Tower & Loggia

The Loggia and Tower were the final structures completed in the garden. The Loggia is a functional space where we entertain family and friends. It includes a BBQ kitchen, wood-fired pizza oven and an open fireplace. Bruce Willmer, a cousin of mine and true artisan, forged the beautiful candelabras in the loggia as well as the bell-pull in the bottom of the tower. If it were not for the washroom on it’s ground floor, the Tower would be a complete folly. It does include a small gallery on the ground floor and the floor above provides a place to enjoy a cool drink or view the garden and the valley below. The Tower was really built simply as an architectural statement, meant to define the garden as mediterranean.
